Single-SKU vs Multi-SKU Bundles
Bundable now supports two bundling modes, giving you flexibility in how bundle products appear in your orders and fulfillment workflow.
Single-SKU Mode (Default)
In Single-SKU mode, the entire bundle appears as one product in the cart and in your orders. The individual products that make up the bundle are listed as line item properties on that single product.
This is great for:
- Simple gift bundles or variety packs
- Keeping orders clean with one line item per bundle
- Situations where you don't need individual SKU tracking for each component
Inventory for each component product is automatically adjusted when a bundle order is placed.
Setting a Bundle SKU
In Single-SKU mode, you can set a SKU in the bundle settings (under the Shipping section). This SKU is applied to every Shopify variant created for the bundle. Setting a SKU is important if you use a 3PL, warehouse management, or inventory system (such as Cin7, ShipHero, or similar) that classifies products by SKU. Without a SKU, some systems may categorize bundle orders as "services" instead of products.
Multi-SKU Mode
In Multi-SKU mode, each product selected by the customer appears as its own line item in the cart, grouped together under the bundle. Each item retains its own SKU.
This is ideal for:
- Third-party fulfillment services that need individual SKUs
- Warehouse operations that pick and pack by individual product
- Order printer integrations that need each product on a separate line
Because each component is a real Shopify variant in the cart, Shopify handles inventory automatically.
How to Choose Your Mode
- Open the Bundable app and create or edit a bundle
- In the bundle settings, find the Bundle Mode option
